Changing Fostering Agencies

At Ethelbert Fostering, we recognise that our success has been achieved as a direct result of the committment and dedication provided by our Foster Carers. Consequently, we place immense value on our carers and view them as essential team members whose opinions and suggestions really matter.

Our carers have helped us to shape  the organisation into the respected service it is today and we are always looking for experienced foster carers to join our team.

Is Your True Value Recognised and Rewarded?

If you are an approved Foster Carer with a local authority or another agency within Kent, London or Essex and are considering changing to an agency that can provide exceptional levels of support and personal development opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

At Ethelbert we understand that transferring agencies can be a huge decision for a Foster Carer to make and it is not one that should be taken lightly. However, if you believe it is the right decision for you, we would welcome the opportunity to provide advice and guidance as to the process of transfer and discuss the opportunities we could make available to you.

At Ethelbert we fully recognise the value of our Foster Carers and understand that the quality of service we provide can only continue if our Foster Carers feel fully supported and suitably rewarded.

If you decide to transfer, you can be assured that we will advise and guide you throughout the process, ensure your experience is positive and facilitate a smooth and seamless transition in line with the Fostering Network Transfer Protocol.

Foster Carers who have previously transferred to Ethelbert felt that we could better support them in their careers for a variety of reasons.

10 Reasons why you may wish to consider transferring to Ethelbert:

  6. Training that Delivers

Caseloads and ancillary responsibilities are carefully managed, enabling our Foster Carers to receive the level and frequency of support they expect and deserve.

  8. Wraparound Care & Education
Ethelbert own and operate DfE registered schools at primary and secondary levels, specialist education sites, a vocational centre and a therapy centre providing a wide range of child focussed counselling and therapy services. This allows for the children and young people we care for to receive the essential services they need, as and when they need them, rather than falling foul of public service waiting lists and bureaucratic obstacles.

  9. Enhanced Support
Direct access to a team of specialists from the fields of social care, education and health for advice, guidance and support with complex issues. In addition to providing immediate support, our professionals liaise with the wider childcare, education and health sectors and advocate for Foster Carers at a professional / clinical level to ensure specialist services are made available without delay.

  10. Career Development Opportunities
Ethelbert provide optional, enhanced training and development opportunities to carers who wish to progress their careers and specialise in complex or in-depth areas of child care and development. Opportunities to provide support to children and young people across the wider organisation can be made available to carers who wish to maintain an income between placements or further develop their skills and experience in line with their career objectives.
