The Davenport School is situated in its own grounds on the edge of a rural village, near the historic town of
Sandwich.
The Davenport School if registered by the DfE for 20 children (aged 5-12) of mixed abilities, who have Social, Emotional, and Mental
Health (SEMH) needs.
Many of our children come to us having experienced a level of trauma and with attachment related history. Often these early
experiences have meant a very disrupted educational experience and our expertise means that we are able to provide an educational approach that will enable our children to make progress in all areas
of their well-being as well as academic progress.
The aim of The Davenport School is to provide a child centred environment that meets the individual learning needs of all students.
We do this through a varied and creative curriculum that develops physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills. Lessons are made fun and interactive with a focus on emotional development and with
a teacher and high ratio of learning support staff in each class, children are given the care and support they need.
We believe that by creating a nurturing environment that focuses on building quality relationships with students, they will flourish
and achieve their full potential.
