An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Education Department for a Vocational Lead.
It is essential for the Vocational Lead is able to teach vocational subjects and assess City and Guilds qualifications for our students
The successful candidate will be able to balance the Educational and emotional needs of our young people to ensure successful learning and ability to deliver lessons effectively and act as a reference person to colleagues. You should have or be prepared to complete the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (TAQA) A1.
Our vocational setting is a satellite unit, located in Margate, Kent under the umbrella of our SEMH School, The Old Priory School in Ramsgate, Kent.
The Vocational Lead will be responsible for designing and developing a meaningful vocational curriculum for our children that supports them in developing confidence and enables them to achieve nationally recognised vocational qualifications.
The successful candidate will join the Education Department and become part of the Teaching Staff, adhering to the national agreements for schoolteachers, working and respecting the care of children at all times under Ethelbert Children's Services' ethos umbrella and the Company's policies and procedures.
Meetings, attending appropriate training, maintaining and keeping own specialist knowledge up to date and accurate with any legislation changes, reading, monitoring, reviewing up to date student records and knowledge of their individual SEN targets, strategies, learning barriers and outcomes will be part of the role expectation.
The successful candidate will adhere to Education policies and procedures, maintain safeguarding and child protection guidelines.
Be responsible for managing the classroom is an effective learning environment, all equipment and facilities are used appropriately and safely, following the H & S Policy. To be a positive role model for the children.
This role works the school day, Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm, over the academic year.
Salary is dependent upon knowledge and qualifications.
